National Music Workshop Is Proud To Announce: The Chick Corea Summer Music Workshop!

For intermediate and advanced jazz musicians, all instruments (limited enrollment)


Event to be held August 27-31, 2012, Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club, Lenox, MA

The National Music Workshop is proud to announce the Chick Corea Summer Music Workshop. World-renowned pianist, composer and bandleader Chick Corea will be in residence at The Cranwell Resort in Lenox, Massachusetts for five days (and four nights) to conduct workshops, special ensemble programs and master classes. Players of all instruments are welcome: Corea will be addressing not just piano, but a variety of musical concepts.

Joining Chick as part of the faculty for this event will be drummer, Antonio Sanchez, and bassist John Patitucci. They will work with drum and bass students and will participate in programs for all the participants throughout the week. Chick and the trio will offer a private concert for all the participants on the opening night. Students will also have the opportunity to perform an original work written by Chick especially for this exclusive event.

Additional workshop details (subject to change):

  • Workshops and master classes: mornings, approx. 10am-12pm
  • Ensemble sessions: afternoons, approx. 2pm-4pm
  • Jam sessions with professional rhythm sections: late afternoon-early evening
  • Concerts each evening
