Celebrating 50 Years of Mambo

Mambo Maniacs Records is proud to announce the September 23rd release of “50 Years Of Mambo" a tribute to the father of Mambo Music, Damaso Perez Prado.

The much anticipated double album is a live recording of a concert at New York City's Town Hall Theater featuring a 25 piece All-Star band. Band members included Carlos Averhoff, Candido Camero, Bobby Sanabria, Manuel Valera, Mitch Frohman, Paquito Hechavarria, Ray Mantilla, Rances Colon, Tony Barrero, Lewis Kahn, Aryam Vasquez, David Oquendo and Reynaldo Jorge to name a few, under the musical directorship of German Pifferrer.

The nearly hour and half concert also features “Concierto Para Bongo" by Perez Prado, never before recorded live.

The double CD Album includes a history of Mambo written by none other than Chico Alvarez and additional liner notes by Alberto Bernal.

The Album has already been submitted for Grammy Awards in 9 separate categories.
