Brazilian siren Luisa Maita is returning to North America with her signature mix of samba, alternative pop and downtempo electronica. Hailed by NPR as “The New Voice of Brazil," Luísa Maita will be previewing new material from her forthcoming album to be released in early 2012.

Luisa Maita has been busy since the release of her critically-acclaimed debut album Lero-Lero on Cumbancha Discovery in 2010. In 2011 Luisa won the Best New Artist award at the Brazilian Music Awards, the local version of the GRAMMY and she was featured both on-screen and in the soundtrack for the major motion picture Estamos Juntos directed by Tony Venturi performing a revamped version of her hit song “Lero-Lero." She also embarked upon her first European tour playing at the renowned festivals Musicas do Mundo (Portugal) and Nuits du Sud (France). Earlier this year she appeared on the prestigious tribute album for Caetano Veloso alongside Marcelo Camelo, Devandra Benhart, CeU, Mariana Aydar, Jorge Drexler and others.

Sultry, seductive and infused with that inimitable samba swing, the music of Luisa Maita embodies the modern spirit of Brazil. Inspired by the bustling urban life found in her native city of Sao Paulo, Luisa has quickly earned a place at the pinnacle of Brazil's vibrant music scene.
