Blue Note Label Group Becomes EMI's Global Jazz Repertoire Center

Josh Lerman Appointed Vice President Of International

NEW YORK -- The Blue Note Label Group (BNLG), a unit of EMI Music, and the first full-scale, multi-genre music division dedicated to serving the adult music market, will become the Jazz repertoire center for EMI Music worldwide. In addition, the Group has appointed Josh Lerman as vice president of International for The Blue Note Label Group, it was announced by Blue Note Label Group President and CEO Bruce Lundvall.

As new headquarters for EMI's global jazz repertoire, The Blue Note Label Group will now assume responsibility for coordinating and exploiting Jazz releases through EMI labels on a global basis. Previously, EMI's jazz repertoire center had been in London and part of the EMI Classics Centre.

As vice president of International, Lerman will be responsible for marketing Jazz repertoire on a global basis as well as creating international marketing strategies for all records under the Blue Note Label Group umbrella. Lerman, who has more than 14 years of international marketing and publicity experience in the music industry, was most recently vice president of International Product Development/New Media for the Atlantic Records Group. He has also directed international campaigns for artists including Sean Paul, Madeleine Peyroux, Wax Poetic, Marc Ribot, Manhattan Transfer, and Led Zeppelin.
