The Ben Geyer Sextet plays modern compositions focusing on large-scale melodic development and carefully integrated improvisation. Dana Unger of The Hippo Press writes, “Geyer has been able to nd his own unique composing style."

The album narrates the unfolding plots of two stories. One shows the behavior of the ice molecule and its atoms and the other depicts the events surrounding the Biblical murder of Abel.
