Band of Bones has just released their debut CD. This exciting and swinging new group is modelled after the great band of JJ Johnson & Kai Winding from the 1950s, with just a hint of the Basie Band as well. Dave Chamberlain has assembled a lineup of top New York players who produce a totally unique sound. Band of Bones features great arrangements and original soloists. This ensemble of eight trombones plus rhythm will knock your socks off!

Their diverse repertoire includes jazz classics like “Night in Tunisia" and “Bolivia," standards like “Stardust" and “It's Allright with Me," Latin-Jazz gems like “Girl from Ipanema" and “El Manisero," and the originals “Bonin'" and “Love Again."

Featured arrangers include JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Dick Lieb, Wayne Andre as well as Dave Chamberlain, Bob Suttmann, Nate Mayland, James Zeller, and the great transcriptions of Chris Rinaman.

“Once every fourth blue moon somebody creates a sound that demands attention. Such is the case with Dave Chamberlain's Band of Bones, a debut CD featuring 14 wonderfully inventive and swinging songs. With eight trombones and a sensational rhythm section, Band of Bones is both percussive, rhythmic, and just plain fun!" —Doug McIntyre Host, Red Eye Radio 77 WABC in New York City
