Auand Meets NYC
A 5-Day Event in November to celebrate Auand Records' 10th Anniversary

10 Projects Featuring Italian and U.S. Jazz Players in New York 5 Avant-Garde venues

A jazz Italian label in New York, 20 outstanding jazz players, 10 projects, 5 avant-garde venues. These are the numbers for “Auand meets NYC," the amazing event celebrating Auand Records tenth birthday. Created in Puglia by Marco Valente, Auand Records is going to invade the City from November 1st to November 5th, featuring some of the most creative musicians in the international scene.

Among several original projects, only one will have them all mixed up in a powerful and unique gig: A10A10 (Auand 10th Anniversary 10tet) is an all-star big band made up of the best Auand musicians plus trombone guru Ray Anderson as a special guest.

When it comes to jazz and avant-garde, NYC has plenty to offer. “Auand Meets NYC" has spotted five nu-jazz cradles (Smalls Jazz Club, Zebulon Cafe, Barbes, Galapagos and Seeds) to host brilliant, extrovert and original Italian musicians, such as Francesco Bearzatti and Francesco Diodati, as well as international players such as Ohad Talmor, Dan Weiss and Tim Berne.

“Auand Meets NYC" is a one-time chance to experience the cutting-edge sound resulting from a very international Italian way to jazz. The opening night will be an outstanding three-set gig at Smalls, featuring the young and talented guitarist Francesco Diodati; Francesco Bearzatti's rock band Sax Pistols and Swiss-Israeli saxophonist Ohad Talmor's NewsReel.

Drummer Bobby Previte's new project Plutino will be presented together with Gabrio Baldacci and Tim Berne duet (November 2nd at Zebulon), while Giancarlo Tossani's Synapser and the trio Partipilo / Okazaki / Weiss will be at Barbes on November 3rd. Walter Beltrami will lead his quartet with Jim Black on drums on the final night, November 5th at Seeds. Here the Festival will say goodbye to the audience with an exciting jam session and the final party.

“Auand Meets NYC" is both a chance to gather together some great Italian and New York-based artists in front of the most demanding audience in the world and a kind of incubator where new international projects can come to life.
