Crooner to be honored at annual kudos
Smokey Robinson will be honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers at its 22nd annual kudos gala at the BevHilton on June 26.
Robinson, who will be feted with the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award, received the org's Founders Award in 1988.
ASCAP will also hand out laurels for songwriter and publisher of the year, as well as for top R&B/hip-hop, rap and gospel songs.
