Armen Nalbandian to return as Musical Director of Blacksmith Brother Music/Fresno Art Museum

Blacksmith Brother Music and the Fresno Art Museum have announced that pianist/composer Armen Nalbandian has signed on as the museum's Musical Director/Resident Artist for a third concert season.

Armen Nalbandian's concert series (The Rhythms of Art) is a highly original and innovative program that highlights the museum's exhibited art through original Jazz compositions composed by Nalbandian. Over the past two concert seasons, the program has presented 78 musicians, 3 benefit concerts, one CD, 27 concerts and premiered 236 original compositions.

Nalbandian's 2006-2007 ROA season will feature 6 concerts of original music in a period from September 2006 to July 2007. Four of the 6 concerts will feature original music inspired by the art, and the remaining two scheduled concerts will showcase additional music from Armen Nalbandian as well as various collaborative meetings.

The 2006-2007 season is entitled The Evolution of a Trio and will feature The Armen Nalbandian Trio through a series of styles, all revolving around the visual arts. Nalbandian promises this season to be “far from ordinary."
