Pianist and bandleader Antonio Ciacca has been appointed Artist-in-Residence at the Setai Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York. Beginning April 1, 2011, Ciacca will present his trio and quatet, as well as curate concerts featuring some of New York's finest jazz musicians, every night of the week as a part of Jazz at Setai. Performances begin at 8:00 p.m., and are free to the public.

In addition to Ciacca's performances, additional featured artists include the Spike Wilner Quartet, the Ehud Asherie Quartet, and the Jeremy Manasia Quartet. More information and a complete calendar of Jazz at Setai events can be downloaded here.

A consummate artist with a multi-faceted career, Italian pianist Antonio Ciacca has emerged as a modern-day Renaissance Man of jazz: he tours internationally as a performing artist, curates concerts in his position as the Director of Programming at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and trains the next generation of jazz leaders by teaching at the Juilliard School of Music. As a pianist, Ciacca has collaborated with such jazz luminaries as Benny Golson, Joe Lovano, Wynton Marsalis, and Steve Grossman, and he has recorded six albums as a bandleader. Ciacca's latest album, Lagos Blues (Motema Music), has received tremendous acclaim from both press and audiences since its release.
