The first American show of this type was 33 1/3 PHX held in May in Phoenix. After this show it was decided that for the American palate and double that for Phoenix the show should be trimmed down to 14 hours which proved to be a good slot for this occasion. Players included bass master Stuart Hamm, drummer Jerry Marotta, guitarist and host Willie Oteri, the creative harmonica of Chris Michalek, bassist Skinny Bishop, drummer Gigi Gonaway, Jon Mulvey, Cat McLean, Jason Wiedman, Terry Daun, Todd Stevenson and many others. The event helped to raise money for the Phoenix Conservatory of Music.
More shows are planed for the States and other parts of the world with hopes of an event every three months and eventually every month anywhere from 10 or 100 hours of non-stop improvisation.
