Toyota is giving 100 cars over 100 days to nonprofits, like the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, that could really use a new set of wheels to support the organization's education programs. And online voters will help decide which one gets a new ride every day.

100 Cars For Good

The American Jazz Museum is a finalist to win a Toyota to support its on-going jazz education programs and initiatives. “A major challenge is getting kids from the metro and urban core, to and from our programs," states, Dennis Winslett who is the Education Director of the American Jazz Museum.

About The AJM Education Programs

Our Youth Training Ensemble serves youth ages 14-21. Research shows that music not only inspires creativity and performance, but academic performance is positively impacted. The National Report of SAT test takers study indicated students with music performance experience scored higher on the SAT.

Our program participants come from roughly 20 schools - with an emphasis on schools in the urban core. Arts funding cuts have eliminated many programs. A void exists because individualized instruction is key to artistic development.

Our students emerge with increased leadership skills, self-confidence and better relationships with peers. Teachers, parents, community members, and students themselves notice visible improvements, and the program has enjoyed many success stories.

Why The Car Is Needed

Transportation is a barrier for participation to many students interested in enrolling in this free program. The new Toyota Sienna will allow us to provide safe transportation to and from rehearsals and performances.

How To Vote For The American Jazz Museum

All voters have to do is log in to their Facebook profile and use the 100 Cars for Good app to vote on one of that day's five nonprofit organizations.

Each afternoon, the previous day's winner is announced and a fresh batch of five finalist organizations will be ready to compete for votes. Vote once a day because each vote counts and each day brings another new car to another deserving organization.

Voting for the American Jazz Museum is on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 9:00 AM through 10:59 PM EST. Voting is a very easy process and takes only a few moments.
