A Tribute to Charlie Palmieri November 6, 2004 Lincoln Center, NYC

Jazz and Salsa luminaries will pay tribute to Charlie Palmieri in this fundraising concert benefiting MMGs Symphonic Youth Program, a non-profit program that has provided free preparation for college and music school auditions and exams to inner city youth since 1996. The All-Star orchestra for this event will resemble the legendary Big Band structure and includes Eddie Palmieri, Jose Cheo Feliciano, Giovanni Hidalgo, Richie Ray, Ray Santos, Jimmy Bosch, Mario Rivera and many many others, while highlighting a full string section.

Seven-time Grammy-winner, pianist Eddie Palmieri will pay tribute to his brother with an original suite and with some classic Palmieri compositions. The MMG orchestra, along with the special guests, will unveil many of Charlie Palmieris unrecorded compositions and his own Lullaby, composed for Charlies grand-children shortly before his untimely passing in 1988. The MMG Orchestra is a multicultural symphonic orchestra made up of 25 professional musicians with a classical, Latin, world music and jazz repertoire.
