Earl Klugh and Bill Frisell

May 3-6 - A Night of Guitars, presented by Earl Klugh, featuring Bill Frisell and more
Presented in collaboration with the Guitar Society of Fine Arts
Earl Klugh debuted the lighthearted, easy funk style that would become his trademark in the late 1970s and it continued over thirty albums, making him one of the pioneers of smooth jazz and a 13- time GRAMMY nominee. A Night of Guitars is a special project created by Klugh to bring together a variety of world-class guitarists for once-in-a-lifetime event. Catch its Pittsburgh premier as Klugh and fellow guitarists perform standard and contemporary tunes in solo, duo, trio, and quartet format.
Over the years, Bill Frisell has contributed to the work of such collaborators as Paul Motian, John Zorn, Elvis Costello, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Suzanne Vega, Rickie Lee Jones, Vinicius Cantuaria, Marianne Faithful, John Scofield, Brian Eno, and many others, making Frisell one of the most sought-after guitar voices in contemporary music. The breadth of such performing and recording situations is a testament not only to his singular guitar conception, but his musical versatility as well. Frisell joins Klugh in a night of guitars you won't want to miss.
