George Duke was a guy that was truly larger than life. When he walked into the room, he just lit it up. I, as many do, miss him dearly.
Internationally recognized bassist Dan Dean has performed with the some of the finest musicians of our time, including B.B. King, Buddy DeFranco, Donny Hathaway, Tom Scott, Dave Grusin, Don Grusin, Ernie Watts, Freddie Hubbard and many others.

One of his favorite collaborations of all was with the legendary pianist George Duke, and Seattle-based label Arena Jazz is proud to release for the first time their wonderful duo recording of Gershwin’s immortal “I Loves You Porgy”.  Dan says of his friend: “George Duke was a guy that was truly larger than life. When he walked into the room, he just lit it up. I, as many do, miss him dearly."

The track was engineered by Josh Evans at Studio X in Seattle and will be featured on Dan Dean's forthcoming album of Piano and Bass Duos, to be released by Arena Jazz next year.

Arena Jazz is a division of Arena Music Promotion (AMP), a music production and promotion company headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
