The LADY GOT CHOPS Women's Month Jazz Festival is co-produced by The Jazz (aka Jazz Spot a cozy jazz cafe owned by an African American mother daughter team) and conceptualist/web manager, bassist Kim A. Clarke


THE CURRENT LINEUP:

Fri. March 6: “Annette Aguilar and Stringbeans" Latin Jazz Ensemble features Nicki Denner, Jennifer Vincent, Barbara Merjan, Annette Aguilar, plus special guests

Sat. March 7: Jackie Coleman with Rachel Z and Maeve Royce “Tribute To Women Instrumentalists In The Obama Inaugural"

Fri. March 13: “ Freddy Hubbard Tribute" with Trumpeters Tanya Darby and Jamie Dauber with Shamie Royston and Linda Oh

Sat. March 14: “The Blues Sisters" Aronda Way and Antoinette Montague Quartet with Bertha Hope, Kim Clarke and Bernice Brooks

Sat. March 21: Flautist Andrea Brachfeld and Brazilian Flava with Chieme Nakai, Sheila Early, Jacqueline Acevedo, and Miriam Sullivan



Sat. March 28 : “Someone New Swings Our Way" featuring Tenor Saxophonist Camille Thurman, Pianist Dotti Anita Taylor

March Friday & 4 Saturday Evenings in the Month Of March 9pm-1am, Tickets $10

The festival has functioned completely grassroots without corporate funding . No alcohol is served. There is little to no walk-in traffic to the club. The club owner has been nice enough to offer a small guarantee to the fantastic women musicians but it is not enough.




PLEASE DONATE:

  1. Your 50 donation will help with flyer postage

  2. Your 100 donation will help reproduce the flyers and journals

  3. Your $25 donation will help provide 2 of the 30 ladies with taxi fare/tip

  4. your $10 donation will help pay for someone who would otherwise be unable to attend.

  5. Your $300 donation will cover one nights guarantee or enable the festival to add a day.
