SUMMER MUSIC CAMP TO BE HELD IN TWIN FALLS

(Twin Falls, ID) - - The Directors of the Great Basin Jazz Camp have announced the 3rd Annual Camp will be held July 27 through July 31st 2009 on the campus of the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.

According to Mike Allen, Executive Director of the Great Basin Jazz Camp, the decision to relocate our Camp at CSI insures the continuation of our successful program for many years to come. The College of Southern Idaho is serious about providing expanded opportunities for jazz, and we are delighted to be part of that effort.

The 3rd Annual Great Basin Jazz Camp will feature a Junior Jazz Camp, composed of students age 12 to 14. The upper division classes are open to students 15 years of age and up. All students should have at least two years of playing experience and a strong desire to perform in a jazz environment. The Junior Jazz Camp and regular Camp will run concurrently and feature many of the clinicians from last year.

Areas of study will include ensemble performance skills, instrument technique, ear training, one-on-one instruction, digital media and improvisation and solo performance.

Registration for the 3rd Annual Great Basin Jazz Camp will begin January 1, 2009. In addition, there will be several Tuition and Housing plans available. There will also be special Early Bird registration incentives and a special package for previously enrolled and returning students. Interested parents and students are advised to check the Camp website. www.greatbasinjazzcamp.com
