Brooklyn, NY - Big Eyed Productions will host it's 2nd Annual Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues Festival. The festival will be a four day event that will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2007 through Sunday, October 28, 2007 at various venues in Brooklyn, NY.

A brand new season has just arrived and with it comes the anticipation of the 2nd Annual Brooklyn Big Eyed Blues Festival and some “red hot Blues"!

We will start on Thursday, October 25, 2007 with “Ladies Singing the Blues" with the internationally acclaimed group," Women of the Calabash", with Madeleine Yayodele Nelson followed by the interpretation of the Blues by three women, the fresh, young sounds of Melanie J.B. Charles, soulful, bluesy voice of Beareather Reddy and the powerful, moving interpretation of the Blues by Madame Pat Tandy.

On Friday, October 26, 2007, “The Jeff King Band Salutes the Blues" at one of the new hot spots in Brooklyn, “Solomon's Porch", starting at 9pm.

While we are excited to bring Blues music to the community, we are most proud of our efforts to “keep Blues alive" by passing it on to our youths by offering a Youth Blues Workshop from 10:30am-3:30pm, on Saturday, October 27, 2007. The workshop will include introduction to guitar, harp and blues writing. All sessions will be led by the event headliners such as Bill Sims Jr., Keith “The Captain" Gamble,

Tulivu Cumberbatch and Michael Hill of the “Michael Hill Blues Mob. Other activities will include storytelling, blues quizzies and a performance by The Patricia Robinson Youth Music Ensemble.

Our main event will be Saturday night at 966Jazz with the Master drummer Shanto Baba Mpho and event organizer, Beareather Reddy presenting the “Roots of the Blues", which will be followed by two exciting acts, Ptah Brown and The Jazz Expressions (backup band for Little Jimmy Scott) and the SaRon Crenshaw Band.

We will end of four day festival with “The Blues Brothers", The Ayodele Maakheru Quadrant and Bill Sims Jr ("Lackawana Blues") at the beautifully designed Brooklyn Exposure.

We have designed an exciting festival that will prove to satisfy the palates of Blues lovers anywhere. Please come out and show your support.
