Headline Talent will be announced and Official Poster will be presented - Media Kits on flash drives will be distributed

American Jazz Museum Board of Directors Chairman, Walter Pearson will welcome distinguished guests and attendees. American Jazz Museum CEO, Greg Carroll will announce the 2012 Headline Talent, Vendor Information and recognize 2012 Sponsors. Both, gentlemen will unveil the Official Logo for the 2012 festival designed by graphic Artist David Terrill of C3 marketing, whose graphic work on the Rhythm & Ribs materials have won the firm both national and international awards.

“We are very pleased to extend a sincere invitation to our traditional journalists, music bloggers and media professionals to our press conference on Tuesday to announce the details for the 2012 Rhythm & Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival taking place on October 13 here at the American Jazz Museum,” states Mr. Pearson.

The Rhythm & Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival, winner of Kansas City’s 2011 Visitors’ Choice Award for BEST FESTIVAL, is a day-long indoor/outdoor event featuring 15 performances on three stages by local and nationally known jazz and blues artists. And, recently received an NEA Art Works grant to help support production of the 2012 Rhythm & Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival. Over 6,000 people, representing a wide demographic of age and ethnic diversity, attended the highly successful one-day Rhythm & Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival last year on October 8, 2011.

The official Press Conference will be conducted on Tuesday, June 19th at 10:00 AM in The Blue Room. In addition to talent announcements, ticket pricing and availability will be highlighted as well. Media Kits will be available to the Press which will include festival data on flash drives for easy access and retrieval by journalists, stakeholders and writers.

“The line up is simply stellar, in terms of musical talent and the individual artists we were able to contract,” says Greg Carroll, CEO of the American Jazz Museum. “The work thus far, by our Entertainment Director, Gerald Dunn and all of the AJM Staff has added tangibly to the continued growth of the Rhythm & Ribs Jazz and Blues Festival and also reinforces the diverse cultural programming we deploy in support of our organizational mission pillars of Performance, Education, Exhibition, and Research. We anticipate another great festival on the vine!,” Carroll concluded.
