2009 Coventry Jazz Festival

The Coventry Jazz Festival will occur over the summer bank holiday weekend from Thursday 21st until Monday 25th May. Featuring a wide range of jazz events, with a host of quality international and UK jazz artists, performing against the spectacular backdrop of Coventry's historical buildings, at various venues across the city which include The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry Cathedral, Taylor John's House, and a late-night bar scene.

Performances include:




  • Thursday: Clark Tracey's New Sextet

  • Friday: Jacqui Dankworth, Portico Quartet

  • Saturday: Si Hayden, Art Themen Quartet, Travis & Fripp: Soundscapes Live, The Don Weller Big Band, Gary Husband's 'Drive' Quartet, Lushlife with BJ Cole & Roger Beaujolais, Empirical

  • Sunday: Neil Cowley Trio, Tim Garland Acoustic Trio, Maceo Parker, Monica Vasconcelos

  • Monday: Michael Roach & Johnny Mars + Abie Budgen

Prices vary depending on the event, there are several free performances too. Tickets are available by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055.

There are plenty of accommodation options, as well as places to eat and drink in Coventry, and the festival is very centrally located.

If travelling by coach or bus, arrive at Pool Meadow Bus station which is situated next to Priory Place.
